Thank you Grandma Miller!

My Mom is an angel. I feel that point has been well established. Here are just a few more pictures of her angelic presence this past week. We sure do miss her!

Thayne was so happy and well taken care of while we were at the hospital
She gave Thayne his first bath at home, so I felt it only fitting she give Lydia hers as well

We love this hair!
Thanks for everything, Mom!

Interaction... ?

Thayne still isn't too sure about this Little Sister thing, but he does love to look at her: for about two seconds at a time.

President's Day Weekend

My Mom, Dad, and Laine spent the weekend with us, and it was absolutely fantastic! They were just the boost I needed to step back from my "poor big pregnant me" state of mind and realize I'm doing great and baby is almost here!

One of many moments with Grandpa. He wouldn't let "Gam-pa" out of his sight

We tried to see the falls, but the spray was too cold and too thick
This is where we live, and we love it!
We took my family up to Rattlesnake Lake, one of my new favorite places. There was a town were the lake now is, but it was flooded and abandoned after a dam was built nearby. There are trails going all around the lake and really cool rain drums at the visitor's center

38 weeks along

(You can tell which ones came from my phone instead of Tyler's...)

He definitely has an innate boyish love for sticks

While my mom and Laine helped me gather the last few baby and nursing necessities, my dad and Tyler went to work replacing our dining room lighting.

Old Light Fixture
New Light Fixture!
The lighting is so much better now! We could hardly see our plates and had to bring in an extra lamp if we wanted to play games at the dining room table, but not any more. Thanks Dad!

Another Day in Paradise

After my Midwife appointment (which by the way, my stretching and better posture has worked, Little Miss is no longer turned with her back toward my spine, which greatly reduces the chance of hard back labor!) Thayne wanted to go "running! runnning! running?" We ran down the alley and to the pond behind our house

He enjoyed looking at the duckies through the fence for about two seconds, and then discovered the little streams and pools of the runoff water going into the pond.

Finding rocks...
Showing me the rocks...
And throwing/cleaning the rocks in the water
A few days before, I snapped this picture as we took a little walk down one of the many trails in our neighborhood. We really love where we live!

34 Weeks

During Thayne's 39 weeks of gestation, all I had during the day were hours of thinking about and anticipating his birth, plus naps at the slightest whim of fatigue. The days dragged on just waiting for that magical day when I could hold him in my arms, and I could tell everyone exactly how far along I was at any given moment. I prepared for labor and delivery like it was an athletic event with fast paced walks, squats, and pregnant lady stretches. Not so much this time.

This pregnancy has flown by. Thayne has kept me very busy. I am completely at his mercy for naps. And sleeping in is not an option. I am doing a lot of lifting. In and out of car seats. Into high chairs. In and out of the bath. I get tuckered out from daily activities. Extracurricular walks and exercises have not been a high priority. There are new pregnancy symptoms from life with a toddler. I now know that lifting a lot really does affect pregnant backs/hips and can create quite the burn along the muscle-lacking mid line by the end of the day.

This week I've been making it a priority to fit walks and stretching into my day and it has made a huge difference! I have got to remember to be better about those throughout my next pregnancy. And I've got to remember that pregnancy comes with cycles just like everything else. There are days at a time that my belly feels so tight that I swear it will literally rip apart, and then it's as if my body grows extra skin during the night, and I'll wake up one day feeling comfortable in my own skin once again and little baby movements are fun again instead of painful. That is, until the next cycle begins.

I am so excited to for our Little Miss to come and am so grateful her pregnancy has been void of complications thus far. There are so many little things about pregnancy I've forgotten, and hopefully this little post will help me remember just a few things for future babes.

Tah Dah! A 34 week baby bump for baby #2
